Points on what you can expect after purchasing a refurbished computer. These tips will help anyone make a better decision on what would work best for their situation. Continue reading →

Well this is a fun topic to discuss as many have asked what benefits can be expected when buying a certified used computer system. You are going to have many advantages at your disposal when buying a certified used computer of course. Among those are substantial savings of course. The cost is considerably less expensive. With the savings in cost you will acquire a fully functional computer system with the same warranty as a new computer. This will assure you the buyer that the used computer will meet your standards, and that any defective parts associated with the computer system have been replaced with authentic components.

When working with a reputable supplier or dealer you will find that the products are certified by the manufacturer and will typically have a one-year limited warranty. You can also acquire extended coverage if you pay for the option covered in the used computer systems protection plan. Most plans will extend the complimentary coverage for up to three years depending on the model.

Keep in mind that at times refurbished supplies can be limited and the supplier will on occasion run out of inventory. Therefore, it is advisable that you act quickly if you find a used computer system that you like. Most often you can reserve and pay for the computer. If possible pay with a credit card for extended protection. This gives you many advantages as a consumer since the purchase can easily be traced and depending on the situation refunded without damage to your pocket book. If the broker does not accept credit cards you might consider looking else where for your used computer.

It is strongly suggested that you shop for refurbished desktop computers as well as laptops online for a variety of reasons. Namely the main reason would be the price. Generally prices are always much lower online. You also have the luxury of comparing prices quickly as well as warranties.

If you visit a local retailer you most certainly will not get a same as new warranty nor will the computer be as stable. Sure you could get lucky but chances are they have not ran the computer through as many tests as a major manufacturer.

For a great comprehensive list of things to know before buying a computer be sure to check out this check list on desktop computer reviews as well as these tips on desktop computer deals.

A question that is commonly asked by home inspectors is whether it is better to use a handheld or a tablet PC. There are pros and cons for both types of devices and ultimately it comes down to personal preference. This article is going to break down each type of device and help you decide which is the best fit for you and your business. Continue reading →

Handheld

A handheld device is about as convenient as you can get. It fits in the palm of your hand and is the ultimate field device in terms of portability. One major advantage, especially for home inspectors, is that they can easily slide it into their pocket or holster for storage when they do not need to use it. This allows them to climb ladders, get on roofs, and enter attics and crawlspaces with ease, without worrying about the hassles of carrying bulky equipment. Although the handheld device is small, most models come with plenty of storage and memory so that your home inspection software will run smoothly. When you finish your home inspection on the handheld, sync it up with your PC where you can review it (if needed) and turn it into a PDF to email to your client. Or if you have a wireless printer, you can even print the report right there on site (if your software offers this functionality). Another advantage of the handheld is battery life. Most inspectors find that they can easily conduct two inspections on a full charge.

Since the handheld is designed to be small and convenient, some inspectors will find that the screen is too small for them, and want something with a larger screen. Also, with the smaller screen, some inspectors may find it difficult to use the stylus pen or touch screen with precision. With the limited memory available in a handheld, most inspectors will not have any issue running their reporting software on it, but if you are looking to run other programs related to your business on it, your options may be limited.

Tablet

Those inspectors who like the mobility of the handheld, but prefer something a little larger should look at a tablet PC. A tablet gives you a much larger viewing area and therefore the screens will be easier on the eyes. Using your stylus should also prove easy to use with a larger tablet as well. Your home inspection software will run seamlessly since the majority of tablets offer more than enough memory. A tablet will also give you the exact same look of the software as you are used to seeing on your desktop or laptop. There are a number of tablets that can easily flip or spin into a netbook and allow you to use your tablet as a mini laptop as well. This is a great option for any home inspector who finds themselves typing up a lot of information (versus dropdown selection) on each inspection.

Tablets are becoming more and more popular and are a great option for home inspectors, but they do have their flaws as well. Some tablets are difficult to read in the sunlight and therefore present a problem to home inspectors while completing their inspection outside. Although they can be lightweight, tablets are bulkier than a handheld and are not as easy to carry. This can make for a difficult time when dealing with roofs, attics, and crawlspaces. If you purchase a tablet, you should also consider some kind of drop coverage. Battery life can also be an issue on tablets. Many tablets only get 2.5-4 hours on a full charge which can make completing multiple inspections on a single charge not possible.

Both a handheld and tablet are great options for any home inspector and both will cut down the time it takes to complete an inspection. The decision comes down to which device is going to work best for you. Before purchasing you will want to check with your inspection software company and make sure that your software will run on your new device. If you are unsure of the options available, give them a call and see what their experience has been with some of the handhelds and tablets.

Usually, the original Dell laptop adapter is built to last for years, but sometimes it does not last as long as planned. When the original adapter broken, you need to get a new one for your laptop. Ask the laptop manufacturers for another one? Or buy a replacement Dell laptop AC adapter from website? Is the replacemnt one compatible with your models?

Allways, the laptop manufacturers make the laptop power supplies come in all shapes and sizes for different models, it seems that nearly every one is defferent from every other one. Not only they have different plugs that go into the laptop but they often have different plugs that go from the mains supply into the laptop AC adapter itself. The chances are quite high that a laptop ac adapter from one laptop will not fit another laptop, even if they are both made by the same manufacturer.

Why the laptop manufacturers make it so that you cannot swap the AC adapters? Part of the reasons is that, you can not accidentally give your laptop too much power, or the wrong sort of power. Of course, this is great from a safety point of view, but it also means that laptop manufacturers can charge the earth for a new adapter if yours happens to break.

It is always not a low price for that. Why not to buy a replacement one made by other companies? There are various websites who will sell third party laptop power supplies that will fit the vast majority of laptops ever made. Such as some replacement AC adapter can fit the Dell laptop models Vostro 1500 Vostro 1510 even Vostro 1700 (replaces your original Dell Vostro 1500 charger, Dell Vostro 1510 charger, or Dell Vostro 1700 charger). Compatibility? What you need to do is just checking sometime. As long as you know the model of your laptop, the size of the plug thatfits into the laptop and you know the voltage and current that your original adapter gave out, it should be relatively easy to make a selection. You can find the information on the voltage and power written on your original adapter and some typical figures would be a voltage of 19v and a power of 90W. Most modern power supplies will take just about any mains voltage from 100 to 240v though you will have to make sure that you order the proper mains plug for your country when you get the power supply. If in doubt, ask the company you are buying the replacement Dell laptop AC adapter from if this one is compatible with your model.

So, choose a high quality replacement Dell laptop adapter charger for your Vostro 1700 is a nice way when you want to change the broken Dell Vostro 1700 laptop charger.
